From Classroom to Career, One Step at a Time
Building Industry-Ready Talent Through Akademi Dalam Industri (ADI)
At Yayasan JCorp, we believe that education should lead to opportunity, and that every young person deserves a clear path towards employment. Since 2023, Yayasan JCorp has supported the Akademi Dalam Industri (ADI) Programme, a work-based learning initiative that bridges the gap between education and employment through structured industry training and practical workplace experience. The programme provides opportunities for students from B40 families to gain industry-relevant skills, recognised qualifications and practical experience that can open doors to meaningful careers.
Delivered in strategic collaboration with the Johor State Education Department (JPNJ), QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd and the Department of Skills Development Southern Region, ADI prepares young Malaysians for the workforce by combining academic learning with industry-relevant skills and recognised qualifications.
The programme began in 2023 with 25 students, followed by 38 students in 2024 and 26 in 2025. Through its collaboration with QSR Brands, students received practical training at 18 KFC restaurants across Johor, gaining first-hand experience in food services while developing technical, professional and interpersonal skills.
In 2025, ADI expanded into the healthcare sector through a partnership with KPJ Healthcare Berhad, placing 10 students at KPJ Bandar Datoβ Onn Specialist Hospital to gain hands-on experience in healthcare support services. This expansion broadened career pathways for students beyond food services into another vital industry.
A major milestone was achieved in September 2025 when 22 students graduated as the first cohort of ADI apprentices at a ceremony held at Kompleks Warisan Sultan Abu Bakar, Yayasan Warisan Johor. The cohort recorded a 96% SPM pass rate and a 100% pass rate for MPAK, with all graduates obtaining SKM Level 2 and Level 3 certifications. Notably, one trainee achieved straight Aβs, reflecting the dedication and potential of students who balanced academic studies with structured industry training and practical workplace experience.
Building on this progress, 37 students graduated from Cohort 2, marking another significant milestone for the programme. Over two years, the graduates balanced their academic studies with structured industry training, obtaining the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM), the Vocational Stream Subject (MPAK) and the Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM), alongside valuable hands-on experience in real working environments.
The programme's achievements were reflected in the academic results of Cohort 2, with 95% of students passing SPM, 100% passing MPAK, and all graduates obtaining SKM Level 2 and Level 3 certifications. These results demonstrate the value of combining classroom learning with practical industry training, equipping students with recognised qualifications and relevant skills to prepare them for the workforce.
The Cohort 2 graduation ceremony also celebrated outstanding student achievements. Adni Insyirah Eryna binti Abdul Rahman received the Best Apprenticeship Documentation Award, Muhamad Shukry Aliff bin Abdullah received the Best Apprentice Award β SPM Category, while Nur Shahira binti Saifolrizal received the Best Apprentice Award β Industry Category. Their achievements reflect the dedication, perseverance and potential of young talents nurtured through the programme.
Beyond individual achievements, ADI demonstrates the value of collaboration between education providers, industry partners and skills development institutions in creating pathways from learning to employment. By aligning training with actual workplace needs, the programme enables students to gain relevant qualifications, practical competencies and the confidence to enter the workforce.
Through ADI, Yayasan JCorp continues to invest in young people's potential, creating opportunities for them to build sustainable careers while contributing to Johor's skilled workforce and long-term economic development.
